Photos of the fibre-plant itobasho
These photos are taken by Katrien Hendrickx in June and September 2021.
Management of a fibre plant (Ryukyu itobasho) field (Location: Nanjo city, Okinawa prefecture, Japan).
Fibre plants were transplanted from another field around 2007 to create a new field and then - due to unforseen circomstances - left unmanaged for more than 10 years.
From 2020, management was restarted to be able extract fibre from the plants.

This album shows photographs of both buds grown out seeds of fruit of itobasho and young plants grown out of the root of a parent plant.
